Little Un-Fill (And TMI)

Happy Monday! Well I just got back from my fill doc and had a .4 cc unfill. If you follow my blog, you know that I've been pretty tight since my last fill. I was able to get at least one meal in per day plus liquids so I wasn't too worried, but on Friday everything changed (TMI alert!).

I started by trying to drink my coffee, but could only get in a couple of sips. For the next few hours there was this constant gurggling and annoying feeling. I knew lunch wasn't even a possibility. I tried to have some soup for dinner, but that got me started puking. For the rest of the evening, I felt icky. I had this thought that my stoma was full of spit and I kept getting sick, but all that was coming out was...well...spit, I guess. (I warned you!)

Things were slightly better on Saturday. I couldn't drink my coffee, but I didn't feel so full of nothing. I drank water and called my fill doc's cell phone to learn that she was out of town. I tried to eat some scrambled eggs, but no-go. Once I started throwing up, it was hours before I could even keep liquids down. Sunday was the same as Saturday except I didn't even try to eat.

I got in to see my fill doc at 1:00 PM and she took .4 ccs out. I can now drink a bigger swallow of water so I think that did the trick.

The only good new is that I've lost 12 lbs. (5.44 Kg.) since my last fill. I weighed myself this morning and I weighed 229.6 lbs. (104.14 Kg.). I'm not officially counting it, but it is more than 50 lbs. (22.68 Kg.) down which means that if this weight-loss holds, I'm more than half way to my first goal of 100 lbs. (45.36)! I'm happy about the weight-loss, but it was achieved in the most miserable way I can imagine so I'm glad to be back to a more normal state.

I know how you feel. Stay on fluids for a day or so as you are probably still inflammed. Great weightloss but not by not being able to eat. I wanted to rip the band out of my body when it happened to me on a weekend. Hope you feel better soon.

that sucks! But glad you are feeling better...I've recently had moments like Sandy Lee where I've wanted this stupid thing out. But then I remember how far I've already come...

I'm sorry you had to go through that but I am sincerely grateful you shared your experience! I've been having a similar feeling and of course the little voice in my head keeps asking, "Is this normal? Is this how it's going to be forever?" Now I know what to look for.

Congrats on the 12 lbs and glad you're feeling better now!

Yikes! Glad you were able to get the unfill. Sorry you had such a bad go of it.

Did you have all the thunder and lightening your way last night too?

Congrats on the loss :)

I was pretty sure you'd have to get a slight unfill after you described how tight you were after your fill. I am glad they got you in quickly. I agree you should take it easy for a couple of days and just stay with soft foods so you give your esophagus a rest. Great bonus to all this is the weight loss. Hope all goes well from here on out.

i have so been there. i've actually had to have two unfills. one due to the flu and another due to letting the doc get too aggressive. and it does feel like a gurging in your chest. it is totally annoying and painful. great job on the weight loss though. just sorry for the way you had to do it.

I am glad you were able to get in and get an unfill. That sucks that you had so much trouble. Great job on loosing the 12 lbs but not the best way to have it done. Take it easy and see how the next few weeks go, you may be able to get a little put back in

I am finally going in to get a fill after my .7 unfil. I think for me once it starts to get inflamed it takes awhile to go down.. Glad things are calmed down for you.. Nice to be out of the pain zone..
