Pix of my yard

I took these a couple of weeks ago. We had weeks and weeks of rain and grey days. It is beautiful now - sunny and 80 (26 C). We live in the city, but this is our little slice of the country:

Blueberries - These will be ripe in August.

These hens provide my family with eggs, but they don't like having their photo taken.

We have lots of extra space in the garden this year. I don't know if we'll get around to planting anything else.

My raspberries are ripe now and they are so yummy. I also have strawberries and cherries.

Saw you're a new follower on our blog - looking forward to reading about your "band" new life as well. The garden looks great.

Wow!! I'd love to live in a place that allowed me such a luxury as fresh eggs and produce!! I don't think hen's would like my little LA patio very much. Someday...

man how i'd love to have me some chickens to squeeze out fresh eggs every day... especially since a carton of 12 organic eggs cost me $4.99 yesterday!!! ouch!

Grace, I also have grapes, but not until September/October. Can you tell I like fruit?

I live in a neighborhood of small houses, duplexes and tri-plexes. I am probably the only one who has chickens. Our city allows them in the city limits. Someday I'd like to have a little place in the country, but with property values dropping like they have it will probably be another five years before I can even think about selling my places and moving on.

I wish I had a green thumb, but alas I do not. I love blueberries.

Yum... your garden looks and sounds delicious.

I really like your previous post, I think you're completely coming to terms with food and eating. I think we're similar in our approach, and if it's reasonable (not some perfect unsustainable ideal)... I believe it will be a lifetime change.

That's a garden to die for...so jealous of your green thumb.
It also looks so peaceful out there...you're a very lucky gal.
