Happy Friday!

Greetings Bandland!  I hope you're having a wonderful Friday.

I am so stinking tired!  Let me back up.  When I deviate from my normal habits, things just get weird!  Yesterday I ate breakfast an hour late, at 11:00 instead of 10:00.  So then I wasn't hungry for lunch at the usual time, which wasn't a problem because I was planning to go grocery shopping last night so I knew I'd be eating dinner late.  After we were done shopping and everything was put away, I fixed myself a quesadilla and a little green salad.  And I proceeded to eat it by taking HUGE bites and not chewing thoroughly.  WTF?   Seriously, why?  I've been banded for more than nine months.  So of course I got stuck.  I PB'd a few times, but I never felt better before I went to bed.

And then I woke up TWICE with the taste of vomit in the back of my throat.  The second time I couldn't get back to sleep for a long time.  I have no idea what would cause it.  I wondered if some vomit came up into my stoma when I PB'd and sat there as I slept and then came up in a burp while I was asleep.  (Sorry for the TMI!)

So the moral of the story is that I do better when I stick to my routine.  And, DUH, I need to take small bites and chew thoroughly.

I also PB'd a few nights ago.  I have TOM to thank for the extra tightness.

Got paid yesterday and have spent all but about $60 on bills, gas and groceries.  Should be an interesting two weeks!

The nighttime vomiting thing happens to me sometimes too. I have decided it is from food digesting while I am trying to sleep and the acid backs up my stoma into my esophagus. At its worst I have had to get up and go throw up in the middle of the night-nasty tasting bile-ewwwwww.

When I stop eating sooner (like no later than 8pm) I am ok when I go to bed at midnight. My food after class last night was problematic and I was kind of open even. The tighter I am the worse it gets.

When I was in the doctors office last time the Nurse practitioner told me about a patient of hers who had pneumonia 2 times and she thinks it was from acid reflux aspirating into his lungs. That lesson has made me try and be a little more careful with my eating hours.

Good luck with the budget and the eating!

I've done the same thing. Even ten months out I sometimes forget about the band and try to eat as I did pre-band i.e. big bites no pauses in between. It never works out well...

Ugh. Doesn't sound like fun at all. I hear you on the money spent thing. It seems like all my money is gone the first day I got paid and I'm stuck scrimping until the next payday. No fun at all.

I can COMPLETELY relate to the money issues. And it's just plain tough this time of year when you're trying to plan for holiday shopping. You'll get through it though, have faith! Money stuff is very similar to dieting: pre-plan, stick to your plan, keep daily tabs on your spending, and you'll be okay.
