Post Un-Fill Update

As I previously reported, I had an un-fill on Saturday.  I'm not sure how much I have in my band at the moment, but I think it is less than 1 cc.  As you can imagine, I was pretty nervous about losing my restriction, but so far, I haven't seen any real difference except for I'm not gagging all night on stomach bile.  I have only felt slightly hungry once, last night, when we had pancakes at church and I ate about an hour later than normal.  The lack of hunger is pretty consistent with how I felt before the un-fill; I was only hungry then if I didn't eat at the normal time and waited an hour or so longer.  I still feel like I have to eat slowly and wait a bit between bites to make sure everything goes down okay.  I still get full pretty quickly like I did before.

I'm not sure how long the swelling from the acid and vomiting can last.  The acid seems to be completely gone (although I'm finishing the 14-day course of Previcid).  So I guess I'll just take it day by day.

Thank you all for commiserating with me yesterday about my small loss last week.  I'm really not too upset about it, despite my f-bomb laden post to the contrary.  I am pretty happy with my current size and I'm thinking about expanding my wardrobe over the next couple of months.  I feel like I'm in my "final size" and I want to go out and start buying things that I won't use all the time, like dresses and skirts.  I'm also thinking of buying shorts for the first time in a decade!

I wasn't able to comment as much as usual yesterday due to time constraints but I did see your blog. All I can say is kudos for losing in spite of an unfill. When I got my unfill nearly two weeks ago - the scale responded wtih a surplus of four pounds almost immediately. Being a ble to finally get food and water in didn't bode well for the scale. Now that things are back to fairly normal for me, now the scale is falling again.

If your body responds to the unfill like mine, it will be about a week and a half before the swelling is really gone. I, like you, am still quite pleased with my restriction even though it seems they took so much out. It's just been this week, though, that I feel like I am getting back to what I know to expect.

Odd stuff, that's for sure!!

It's definitely easier to take a smaller weight loss when you've come so far. Glad you are treating yourself to some fun clothes. You deserve it.

So happy we could be there for you! :) And I hope you have fun shopping! You'll have to post pics in your snazzy and smaller wardrobe.

I find that dropping the f bomb makes me feel so good. I may drop it right now!

Here is hoping that your restriction is where you need it to be!

Congrats on your loss post unfill. as you know, i've been suffering from some acid reflux.... post unfill it's only once in a while so i'm hoping i can survive it.

Hey! Have fun shopping! By the way, how many calories per day would you say you normally eat? I am struggling and my doctor told me to count ounces instead of calories - I didn't find that too helpful!

It's been a week since my unfill and I'm starting to get a tiny bit hungry. I can eat all the stuff which has been verbotten for months-bread, eggs, solid meat. Tastes good but I think a fill will be needed in a couple of weeks. I wanted to give myself at least 4 weeks to calm down the band. And we are both looking for new clothes. Can't wait to see the summer stuff.

I'm glad the unfill has brought you relief from the vomiting and acid. Sounds like you're still in the green zone which is awesome. Shorts...argh! I wore jeans all summer last year (in AZ for goodness sake) because none of my shorts fit and I just couldn't bring myself to buy larger sizes. I'm hoping they fit this year.
