Incoherent ramblings of the sleep deprived...I slept like $hit again last night. I would fall asleep and sleep anywhere from a few minutes to an hour and then wake up choking. Oddly it was saliva I was choking on instead of bile. I took a few of your advice and bought some Prilosec so the stomach acid was 1,000,000 times better.
I really don't have the money to go in for an un-fill (or I do, but I wasn't planning to spend it on that). It is going to be the regular price of an office visit since I haven't seen her since June. I hate our health care system in this country. I hate being poor.
AND I'M HUNGRY! I've been doing liquids since yesterday afternoon when I talked to my doctor. In case you don't know, LIQUIDS SUCK! Last night I just felt kind of crappy so I didn't really mind not eating, but this morning my stomach is rumbling and the jello didn't help. I've decided that if I sleep okay tonight (Please God!), I'm going to switch to food tomorrow because this is no fun.
The only good thing going on is my weigh-in this morning. I am down two full pounds (.9 kg.) for a total loss of 108.4 lbs. (49.2 kg.). I now weigh 171.6 lbs. (77.8 kg.). My BMI is 26.1. Damn, I'm sick of the 170's! I've been here since December. If nothing else, the liquids will kick me into a new decade.

im glad youe heartburn has calmed down. it's never fun. thats awesome on the weight loss front!
i hope things settle down for you amanda - and hopefully tonight you will get some sleep! I know that when I don't get sleep I am one GROWLY BEAR BEYOTCH!! lol
Yay for 2 lbs gone...regardless of how they left! Hope you sleep better tonight.
Oh Amanda, that's miserable. Really hope your doctor can get you back to a good, healthy restriction. Hang in there.
What have you tried to help with being able to sleep? I'm glad you started the prilosec, it works well. I have to take it everyday or I end up with the same acid leak. Have you tried not eating or drinking for an hour or more prior to laying down? What about sleeping on an incline? I've noticed (with myself as well as R) that even a slight rise/incline helps greatly with not just the acid escaping but also with the choking (R has similar issues during the night, periodically).
I'm praying that you manage to find some relief and get some sleep - there is a reason why sleep deprivation is utilized as a torture device.. I don't want to see you lose any more sleep than you already have.

Oh Amanda, I am glad the Prilosec helped but I went on for 10 months the way you are until I slept sitting up to avoid the reflux/regurgitation. It wasn't until my doctor said "no" to a fill when he heard how I had been living that I realized it shouldn't be this way. He said, "You are to tight, you need an unfill" and all I could think was no because I feared failure and regaining weight. The first night after my unfill I slept so well and I haven't had reflux since. I still get a little heartburn but I take an acid reducer before bed and it doesn't bother me. Go to your fill doctor and have her take a little out. My being overfilled for a long time caused me to develop a dilated esophagus and now I am unfilled for 6 months. I don't want anyone else to have to go through this. I'm sorry this is so long, I wanted to send you a private email but I couldn't find your email address.
Honey I'm sorry you're going through this- praying for you that you'll feel better soon.

Hope you feel better soon!!! :)
I hope you get a good nights sleep and that the liquids may help to relieve the restriction you are currently experiencing!!!
I know this sounds stupid, but try elevating the head of your bed by a 1/2 inch or so using wood blocks, etc. under the bed legs. This remedy has helped several people I know. Doesn't take much to get liquid to flow downhill.
I'm cheering for you....I hope it works out.
:( hope you get relief & good sleep soon!
I'm glad the stomach bile is under control, but I'm sorry you're having such a hard time sleeping. And Tess's hubby is right, if you have a wedge pillow or anything putting that under you might help, too!
Thinking of you girlie! Your weight loss is amazing! Just keep thinking about how far you've come.
