3.2

That's how much weight I've lost this month - 3.2 lbs. (1.5 kg.).  I wish I could say I've been doing a lot of holiday eating and that's why I haven't lost much, but I haven't.  I'd like to see bigger losses, but overall I'm not too upset.  I weigh 178.4 lbs. (80.9 kg.) and I'm 5'8" (172.7 cm) so while I'm still "overweight" by BMI standards for another 15 lbs. (6.8 kg.), I look pretty "normal".  If I stayed at this weight forever, I think I could be okay with it.  I think.

Other than the slow losses, this has been a really nice last week or so.  I already reported that my fella found a part-time job.  He started yesterday and I think they'll like him.  Unfortunately they are only giving him one 10-12 hour day per week right now.  Even two days would make a big difference for us.  It has the potential to be more in a few months so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I also got an unexpected (and hefty) Christmas bonus yesterday.  I'm trying to pay off my surgery bill by the end of January so most of it will go toward that, but I'm going to keep a bit to spend on vacation next week.  We usually go to the Santiam Pass to play in the snow and soak in the hot springs.  We are renting a cabin for one night on New Year's Day.

I feel like things are finally turning a corner for us.  I am cautiously optimistic that things are finally getting better.  My daughter called it a Christmas miracle.  I'm not going to go quite that far, but I will call it a Christmas blessing!

I think it's the weather making our weightloss unpredictable. Here in Houston, we keep getting these cold fronts followed by major hot cycles. Hot and humid. When it's cold, I lose predictably. But when it heats back up again, I swell up - and retain water - and gain a pound or two. Then when it cools off again, I lose that pound or two and maybe one more just to have ith eat up again...and gain again...and dangit but I wish it'd just be cool or hot...and stop flip flopping!

We have a cold front coming through on Friday and it's supposed to stick a lot longer than what we've had so far this month. I'm hoping things will settle down then.

I am seriously happy for you and hope that things are turning around. I certainly understand the cautious optimism!

The cabin for New Year's sounds awesome. So jealous! I want to play in the snow!!

I'd say 'pretty normal' is good... but i know what you mean.... at 5'5.5", 185lbs and loose size 12s i could live with where i'm at, but this isn't why i got the band.
thanks for the note on my blog. going back over to the hospital to see my doc inbetween surgeries in a bit and he'll take a wee bit out then. will be good to be able to drink at least!!!

So glad things seem to be improving for you. Now that you have less to lose your body might be slowing down. I know that's what has happened to me. I am basically at the same weight as you. It seems harder and harder to get off.

Cute picture! That trip ya'll go on sounds heavenly!

Well, the good news is you already look so great! And the closer you get to goal the harder it is to drop pounds (at least that's what I've heard), so my only "advice" is celebrate (what seem like) the small victories.

Oh, and that's great news about the bonus!! :) I bet it WAS like a Christmas miracle!!

OH I am so glad things are looking up!! I have a couple of bike shorts getting ready to come your way. Who knows they might even be too big. One pair, sadly, got a bit of a hole in it on the last bike fall...and they were my favorite pair too!!
